On Father’s Day, Sunday June 16th, 2019 Prostate Cancer Foundation BC will be honoring prostate cancer survivors by holding the annual Father’s Day Walk Run in Chilliwack. The goal of this event is to create awareness of the number one cancer in men and raise money to provide research scientists the opportunity to continue life-saving work. 1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The event is held at the scenic Vedder River Trail. The event’s festivities will include Dilly the Clown and Miss Donna, pancake breakfast by the Mount Cheam Lions Club, prizes, and much more. It will be a fun filled family day and a great way to celebrate Father’s Day.

Since the walk run started in 1999, over two and a half million dollars has been raised for Prostate Cancer Foundation BC. These funds have gone primarily to support research, awareness and survivorship programs; PCFBC has funded scientists, purchased equipment, and helped newly diagnosed men cope with the life-altering challenges that come along with a prostate cancer diagnosis. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in men.
