Zap your wet sponges for two minutes on high power to
kill 99% of germs.
Make stale chips and crackers crisp again. Place them in
a single layer on a microwave-safe plate, cover with a paper towel and
microwave for 30 seconds.
Don’t throw out clumpy brown sugar. Soften it in the microwave in 10-20 second increments until it breaks apart.
Ripen oranges (or at least brighten the color of the peel) by microwaving them for about 15 seconds. Add an apple or banana to the microwave, too, in order to produce more ethylene.
