For fans of the group ride, we have one of the big ones coming up this month. May 26th it is the Westcoast Motorcycle Ride to Live, raising funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer. It is a lower mainland ride that also includes a Victoria component. However, I am going to focus on the mainland since that happens to be our territory.
This year is also the 10th anniversary of the ride. Now, I have not been on every ride, but the rides I didn’t participate in I still tried to get to the opening of the ride in the morning and (or) the big wrap up at the end of the day. It is amazing how this ride has grown. Chilliwack now has a reputation for attracting a huge contingent of riders.
May 26th is a Sunday and the plan is to meet at Mountainview Harley Davidson for 8AM and bring your appetite. Breakfast will be served. If you haven’t registered by then, you can do it MHD. Of course we always recommend registering a head of time –CLICK HERE!
Registration is $35.00 per rider (or passenger), $40.00 on the weekend of the event, or FREE registration for those who raise $125.00.
The fun also includes a Poker Run with prizes for the top three poker hands, not to mention a wonderful tour of the Upper Fraser Valley from Agassiz down the Number 7 to Mission and then over to Abbotsford. There will be stops along the way to add to that poker hand and additional prizes to be won at the end of the ride. They have set up categories that award prizes to individuals and groups for raising the most money. These will be handed out at the huge celebration and lunch after the ride at the University of the Fraser valley Abbotsford Campus.
If you don’t ride you can still donate to the event, or volunteer. All money raised goes to support programs and research to improve treatment and hopefully find a cure for Prostate Cancer.
