89.5 The Drive’s “For Pets Sake” is all about matching lost and abandoned pets with new loving “furever” homes. Four times a month on Tuesday we feature cats and dogs in need of a home.

The cats featured on “For Pets Sake” come from the Chilliwack Animal Safe Haven at 49843 Chilliwack Central Road, Chilliwack. While the dogs featured come from the FVRDCare Centre on Wolf road.

“For Pets Sake” is brought you by by The Scruffy Tail – high quality food and accessories for that furry member of your family. Promontory Road in Sardis –  Thescruffytail.com  On Classic Hits, 89.5 The Drive.

Looking for a sweet, loveable dog to mind your farm? Aspen is the girl for you! Aspen is a senior spayed female Maremma – a breed descending from Italy and known for their superior abilities as livestock guardians. Typical of her breed, Aspen is on the larger size at just under 70 pounds. Her voluminous snowy coat makes her look even bigger though! Aspen would get along well with another quiet dog, or would be happy to be the only pup. She enjoys spending lots of time outside, so would be well suited to a home with a large yard. Aspen requires a bit of regular brushing, but other than that is pretty low-maintenance. She could live happily with older children around, and may also be okay with a cat. She’s recently entered our volunteer dog-walking program and is lapping up the attention – give us a call today if you’d like to spend some time with Aspen!
