Tractorgrease Multimedia proudly presents the return of Music 101!
In partnership with 89.5 The Drive, Tractorgrease Multimedia and Tractorgrease Café are pleased to announce the return of Music 101, a fantastic artist development package for artists of all ages, genres and experience levels to advance and develop their careers.
What Is Music 101?
Music 101 is an artist development program taking place throughout January and February 2019. 12 artists will be selected from an adjudicated application process to attend the Music 101 program at Tractorgrease Café. The programming will include two workshops, one live video shot & edited on location at Tractorgrease Café, and a weekend performance at the cafe.
From these 12 selected artists, one chosen artist will receive a highlight slot at the Tractorgrease Folk Festival in 2019, and will receive a one-day studio session and residency in Tractogreaseland in which two more live videos will be shot and edited.
How Do I Apply?
You can apply right now by filling in the form at the bottom of this page. Prepare all of your online assets as if you’re booking a show with us! This includes your EPK, any live video you may have, logos, photos and links to any existing recordings you may have.
Music 101 Workshops
- Getting The Best For Your Live Sound
This workshop will be hosted by Tractorgrease owner/operator Jeff Bonner, and is directed to ensure you get the sound you need in live environments. This will be an interactive workshop using gear provided at tractorgrease, so bring your band ready to play. Topics covered will include PA use, tech riders, monitor mixing, working with your sound technician and much more. Jeff Bonner is an audio engineer with twenty years experience on either side of the sound board, whose insight as a sound technician and venue manager is incredibly valuable to emerging artists.
Getting The Gigs
This panel will be hosted by 4 industry professionals – experienced artists and venue managers from across BC – directed at helping artists get the gigs they want. Topics covered will include application processes, EPK presentation, email & phone etiquette, networking & follow-up, conferencing and much more. This will be an interactive panel in which discussion is highly encouraged.
