September 14 – 2001 5 days after 9/11 the biggest owner of radio stations in the United States (Clear Channel Communications) sends out a list of songs instructing their stations not to play the songs on the list fearing they would upset listeners. The listed included songs such as That’ll be the Day by Buddy Holly, Dave Matthews Band Crash Into Me, AC DC Highway to Hell and  Jackson brown Doctor My Eyes to name a few. It wasn’t an actual BAN, it was just a suggestion. No word if all the stations honored the request.

Listen for the First @ 7 BackTrack Weekday mornings, brought to you by Nexgen Hearing on Classic Hits 89.5 The Drive.
