Who Fixes Your Motorcycle?

There is nothing more inconvenient on a motorcycle than a breakdown, and about the only thing you can do to hopefully prevent one is to stay on top of your motorcycle maintenance schedule. Get the oil changes done according to the manual; keep an eye on your tires, brakes, etc. I have been learning how to do my own oil changes just so that I know how, but I still like to get my bike into a mechanic who can give it the once over and maybe spot potential problems I would never see or think of.

We’re lucky to have a lot of good motorcycle mechanics in Chilliwack and the purpose if this blog is to tell you about one I have been dealing with lately; Dave Church at Valley Motorsport Repairs. Dave recently moved his shop from Enterprise Way over to Yale Road just underneath the Yale Road overpass.  His name was first passed on me by Norm Hayes, father of local young motorcycle racer Jake Hayes. Dave has done a lot of work on Jake’s bike to keep it running in top shape for the races.

Since I’m on a sport touring model I liked the fact that he is very familiar with sport bikes in general. However having said that, Dave rides a Harley and has the skill to maintain most bikes and brands as well as ATV’s and sleds. He is a well rounded mechanic who has been working on these pleasure machines most of his life. Read more…
